Next Stop, World Championships

G'day World,

My name is Travis Bywater, and I am here to ask for your support in order to help fund my quest in becoming a Jiu-Jitsu World Champion. I WILL achieve this on March 2nd at the 2024 Grappling X World Championships in California, USA.

A little Background...

Growing up, I consistently found myself as the target of bullying and harassment, and not just at school. Coming from a family with next to no income, I was desperate to change my situation. However, I lacked the knowledge and resources to achieve this. Heading into my teen years and after a significant mental health struggle that nearly took my life, the only outlet I could find was Martial Arts. There were however 3 things standing in my way: my parents did not approve, and even if they did, could not afford to send me, and the options to train in the area were very limited.

Fast forward a number of years and a colleague of mine (Adam) suggested I go down to Infinite MMA in Ballarat to try Jiu-Jitsu. I did, and I was immediately hooked! Here I found something that could truly give my life purpose! I have never looked back, and this was nearly 10 years ago.

After a year of travelling 1+hrs each way, multiple times per week for Jiu-Jitsu training at Infinite MMA, I began to compete in Jiu-Jitsu. Since then, I have competed in well over 100 Jiu-Jitsu matches. I have won GOLD at multiple National Championships, State Championships, Grappling Industries competions, as well as various regional/independent events; aiming to inspire others to achieve their own goals! Though 1 challenge still remains: The Worlds.

The only problem is that this is in California, USA , which is on the other side of the planet. Whilst I am going to do everything in my power to make this trip a reality, as a Father of 3 young girls, it is still a massive expense.

So please, any bit of support will help greatly and is thoroughly appreciated! Realizing my dreams after coming from nothing: you are not only helping me, but also helping to inspire everyone out there to chase after theirs as well, no matter what/where they come from.

Any money raised will go strictly towards expenses of the trip and will not be used for any other purpose.
