Donna & Nakota's Housing & Medical
Donation protected

My name is Donna Kimball and I am trying to raise money for housing for my son and I. I have multiple medical issues that have kept me from keeping a full-time position for the last few years. I was forced to leave a position I had about a year and a half ago because of a medical condition due to my diabetes, neurological issues to my heart. I have had no income for this time. It was hard for me to realize that I could no longer keep a full-time position so it took me 8 months to give in and apply for SSDI, but the wait is very long. It could take anywhere from now to next year. In the meantime, I am out of work and working on my issues to get better so I can eventually go back to work part-time in the future. As some of you may know about 2 1/2 years ago I was working full-time and got divorced and became a single mother. I had no where to go so I applied for a Habitat for Humanity home. My son and I were blessed to be given the opportunity to become a Habitat for Humanity Family Partner. I put in my hours and still volunteer when I am able, but didn't realize that in a 1/2 year I would be out of work again due to my medical issues, but this home was different. I have a condo fee on top of the housing fee and since I have been out of work have been unable to pay it. I can't imagine being back in the same place I was 2 1/2 years ago. I just got my second notice that I have 10 days to come up with the back fees for my condo or I will be going to court fighting again for my housing. Last April we were put out of this condo because of a contaminated flood. We lived in a hotel and with friends (TY Friends) for 5 months until the condo was ready to move back into. That put us out even further because we had to pay for extra costs, like laundry, food, gas, my electric bill went through the roof because of a leak in my water heater and other expenses (TY Family). My car broke down but (TY to my Friends) I was able to get that started again. Given the opportunity to be offered a Habitat Home was the turning point of our life, and I am so very grateful for that. Unfortunatly, I didn't expect my health would take the turn that it did and I was not going to be unable to go back to work full-time. We will loose this opportunity if we do not get help soon. This is embarrasing to say the least, but this is our last chance to keep going forward in our journey. Any little bit will help and if we do not come close to our goal all I can say is at least we tried. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!! Love to all!!!!!!!!!!
Much Love, Donna and Nakota
