Newsome Family In Need

11/18/20, just four days after my mother's 64th birthday, a phone call was received at 10:46am. A guy by the name of "Mark Thompson" claimed my mother had a car in Texas registered in her name, and there were drugs found upon the scene. Mark Thompson claimed he was on officer, and was very stern with my mother. He read her back the four last digits of her social, and said that she and my father would be arrested if she did not comply over the phone. My mother ran out of here like a bat out of hell. She refused to talk to any of us or take our calls because Mark convinced her not to. My mother with drawled $10,000 out of her bank account and purchased Target giftcards of $500 each. She left the store, called Mark and read the pin and car number like instructed. She then was told to go to another Giant Eagle and do the same, then was convinced to take out another $5,000 to purchase MORE giftcards and she did. Mark threatened her with 7 years in prison and $90,000 in fines.
During this time my family was worried sick. We  filed a missing person report since she has not been seen after the money was withdrawn. We searched high and low. We searched stores, gas stations, banks and hotels until someone identified her at the Jamestown Giant Eagle. She eventually returned home, and acted as if nothing had happened because Mark reassured her that a DA would visit the house the following day with a cashier's check. When we told her what she had done, she lost it, broke down and told us everything.
My mother just lost her mother Sept. 1st, 2020. She has been hiding her pain, and we believe she snapped. The $15,000 that was taken from us was my parent's life-savings, and now we are down to the nitty-gritty. My mother has now suffered psychological effects from this. She is absolutely traumatized and not herself. I am asking for donations to help return what was taken from her and my father. My parents are amazing. They have helped so many in their time of need, and now they're in need. I have never asked for a cent from anyone. I am the type of woman that handles her own, but this is even too much for me. Please, if you can't donate, share this as much as possible. With covid rapidly striking Ohio, and my mother's employment on a thin straw due to her attendance because she recently fell down the stairs and spraining her ankle and now her mental stability is gone, they don't want her back. My father is on disability and unable to work. I only work part-time and have debt myself I am trying to get under control. If we somehow manage to reach more than our goal, the following funds will pay my mother's counseling treatments, since we have convinced her she needs to speak to a psychiatrist.
I appreciate anyone who took time to read our story, and we are forever eternally grateful. Thank you so much in advance.
