Newport to Bermuda Race 2018
Donation protected
We are a crew of six young sailors from the Penobscot Bay, Maine area who just completed this year’s Newport-Bermuda race, a 635-mile offshore sailing race that started on the 15th of June, 2018 and ended for us on June 21st, 2018. This renowned race brings together both professional and amateur sailors in a non-stop ocean sailing endeavor, beginning at the New York Yacht Club in Newport, RI, finishing at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club on the island of Bermuda, and spanning the course of several days. We sailed the race on board Feo, a 47-foot steel-hulled Joshua ketch, a design made famous by the solo circumnavigation of Bernard Moitessier. Our crew was the youngest to participate, and our captain the youngest female captain to complete the race in its 50-year history.
Having completed the race we now owe the RBYC dockage fees and are looking to crowd fund to pay this off and then move on to the next adventure. Any donation would help and be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Islay, Tucker, Izze, Will, Claudio,
and Charlie
