Verily, on with our tale of how this has come to pass. I bid thee, lendest thou thine ear to my tale.
Story:
You play as a dragon who is in a never-ending search for his one true love...gold. Dodging knights, obstacles, and other dangers, it's a dragon-eat-dragon world out there. Get all the "bones" (pun very intended) gathered that you can!
Origin/Team:
I (Ellery) am a senior in the Game Design program at Full Sail University, am a father of two and a gamer on mobile, console, and PC (and even occasionally OSX!).
I have excelled in the areas of game documentation, mapping, level design, game mechanics, usability, archetypes & mythology.
Gary is also a senior in the Game Design program at Full Sail, is also a father and an avid gamer. His specialties are in programming, assets, mechanics, problem solving, and usability.
We will both be functioning as QA testers, and will have a select few backers + family/friends that will help us test early versions.
Plans:
We are working on our first full game that we plan to develop for multiple platforms. If fully funded; we plan to release on Android, iOS, Windows, OSX, Xbox 360 & Xbox One, PSN Mobile, Ouya, and WiiU. (A full lineup, catering to any/all gamers) The goal amount includes licensing, testing equipment, art, sound, and other assets needed to work to completion on this project. (The majority of this amount is to finalize the purchase of the development kits needed to develop for all the different platforms, as most require their own hardware, and they are VERY expensive!)
If we are not fully funded, I will publish on every platform possible, unfortunately, WiiU will be the first to be cut, as their overhead is VERY expensive, but we will do our absolute best to cater to anyone/everyone. We want everyone from the age of 2-200 to enjoy our game!
Progress:
I have begun simple coding and testing using placeholders and free/donated assets for the basic mechanics and usability of the game. There is not much to show currently; the game engine being used is Unity, and the game is written in C#.
UPDATE: With the addition of Gary to the team, more assets have been added, and the environment has been heavily updated. Major initial bugs have been worked out, and new art has been produced. Note: This art is far from a finished product and will evolve and change throughout development.
