- Hello my name is Melanie Copeland. I am the wife of Roland Copeland. Roland and I met on October 5, 2018. We were joined in holy matrimony on November 26, 2022. My husband has worked many long and hard years as a HVAC technician. I have been employed for five years working as many as 134 hours biweekly. With that being said My husband is the breadwinner of our family. All my husbands life he has dealt with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Prior to February 20 he had diarrhea unable to eat anything. . Then he was unable to eat anything without emesis. He still manage to put one foot in front of the other and go to work. I thought these were all signs of Covid. I gave him thera flu and Robitussin. His breathing became more labored his feet and ankles were two times the normal size, still he tried to make it to work. I couldn’t take it anymore “I said we’re getting out of here today you’re going to the emergency room. “ On February 20th we got the awful news that he has stage 5 kidney failure and has to start dialysis indefinitely until he can get a kidney transplant. This news was a blow to the gut!!! How do you go from a able body young man to this??? But, As many of u know when sickness arises the bills do not stop. We applied for Medicaid and was turned down because we exceed the income requirement, despite the fact the doctors have said Roland will be out of work indefinitely. We have to go thru the disability process as well, a very lengthy process. I will continue to work and pay the bills as much as I can but I cannot pay everything alone. The monies raised will help us pay our rent ,food and other monthly expenses. until another financial door opens. Will you please find it in your heart to give during this very difficult time in our life.
Sincerely, Mrs Copeland
