Veteran Financial Hardship

Hi everyone! For those of you that truly know me you know I am head strong and not one to ask for handouts or even help for that matter but this really has nothing to do with me and is coming at the request of friends and family that want to help so here it is. Some of you know Ash’s continuous battle with cancer over the last couple years and though he has over come one here we are fighting another. A month from today Ash will be undergoing another invasive surgery. The VA and Upstate hospital will be coming together to remove a tumor from Ash’s inner ear canal and as a result he will permanently be losing hearing and possibility of permanently losing feeling on the side of his face, and there is no guarantee they will get the whole tumor but they are going to try. He will be in the hospital for several days and the recovery time will be lengthy. At almost the same time our rescue kitty Colby that has been Ash’s therapy cat since the moment we rescued him will also be undergoing surgery to remove stones that will eventually kill him if not removed. This surgery is not cheap and the appointments leading up to this has already cost me in the thousands. But I can’t bare to put him down when Ash is going to be in a time of need. I am asking for any help anyone is willing to give to go towards Ash and Colby during this hard time for them and our family. For any of our local family and friends that prefer to donate their time over money we will gladly take it as I am going to be doing my best to juggle everything on my own. The VA is wonderful to us and I am so grateful however me being Ash’s full time caregiver I am not compensated at all as Ash is not considered sick enough for them to give me compensation. I am not bothered I have a wonderful job that supports me and gladly gives me anytime I need to take care of Ash but we still experience an immense amount of hardships. Ash is a fully disabled veteran with cancer and degenerative back disease and he battles everyday with sickness and pain but does his best to keep a smile on his face and be the best father and partner he can be. I do everything for him and our family and will be grateful for anything anyone wants to help us with! I don’t care if it’s bringing us dinner or driving to a doctors appointment, helping with the kids or $10 towards Colby’s surgery we will take anything! We are so grateful for the family and friends in our lives and thank you for any help that is offered!!
