Segoynia "Sony" Andrews is a married mother of one with one grandchild and two dogs.  Mr. and Mrs. Quincy Andrews met in 2004 and have been happily married for 10 and a half years.  They bought a home and started their life together shortly after marriage where they have lived until The Great Flood of Baton Rouge.


On Saturday, August 13th, the Andrews Family was awakened by pounding from their next door neighbor in the 4am hour stating they had to get out now because the water was rising quickly.  Quincy and Sony came up with a plan and worked together with members in the neighborhood along with a kind transfer truck driver to get everyone out.  The water was high and up to hoods, but they all made it out safely.  Thankfully no lives were lost, but everything in the homes were; leaving them only memories and each other to hold on to.  

After checking into a hotel and making a quick stop for necessities, Sony's husband suffered an acute right side stroke and spent the first two nights of the flood in a hospital room.  This is very serious since Quincy was previously diagnosed in April with congestive heart failure.  He has had numerous tests since his release trying to figure out exactly what is causing health issues to a healthy man at 41 years old.  

Sony has been a Boutique Manager at Godiva Chocolatier for over four years and has poured her heart and soul into her job and those that are a part of her amazing team.  Anyone that knows Sony, knows that she will give you the shirt off her back and we would like to give back to her for all that she has given us over the years.

The home is completely lost and needs to be rebuilt.  If you can find it in your hearts to assist, anything would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
