Hip Replacement for our Pup Coco

Coco was found emaciated, pregnant and limping near the Mexican border in early 2017.  We adopted her in late April, and immediately knew something was not right.  An x-ray revealed an old broken femur and hip dysplasia/degenerative joint disease in her hips.
She is only 18 months old, but she can't bend her right leg and she can't run and play like a puppy of her age.  And sadly, she is often in pain.  This will only worsen with time and without intervention it will greatly shorten her life.
A specialist has told us Coco's best chance for a full life with the least amount of pain is a total hip replacement on her left side to give her stability to make up for the side with the broken femur.  The rescue we got her from has refused to help us with this cost, and we can't insure Coco for her leg/hip issues as they are pre-existing conditions.  But we have to do something for this sweet dog....  so we, as a family, have committed to raising funds over the next couple of years to help give Coco a pain-free life.  She deserves it!
If you are an animal lover please donate and/or share Coco's story with your FB world.  Thanks so much.  Is it crazy get a dog a hip replacement?  Maybe... but love makes you do crazy things and we love, love, love our Coco Puff.  She is the Best.  Dog.  EVER.
