Galila Fund- family coping with loss of 4 yr old

Hello friends,
I am reaching out on behalf of a newcomer family that belongs to the Eritrean community in Winnipeg. The family has been here less than two months. The mother, named Genet along with her 4 year old daughter Galila, was heading to meet her 6 year old son on his lunch break.
While at a crosswalk at Isabel and Alexander, Gelila and her mother were struck by a vehicle and rushed to the hospital, both in critical condition. The following night Galila passed away. Her mother has not been informed of her daughter’s death yet as she will be having a series of surgeries in the days and weeks ahead, and has suffered tremendous lower body injuries that will likely be life-changing.
Galila had just started nursery school at Dufferin School and is described as a kind hearted angel. Her father is traumatized by this tragedy and cannot cope the pain of losing his only daughter. He now carries the burden of having to raise their son while caring for his wife.
The reality is that the mother will not be able to work for a long time, if ever. Not only does she have to cope with her injuries but also the death of her daughter. The father is grieve-stricken and may not be able to provide for his family to the best of his abilities which is mainly why they need help.
