Myself, many of my closest friends and most definitely at least one person you know has experienced and suffered from depression and anxiety. A subject I believe isn’t talked about in the right way enough. We don’t want to feel that way, we don’t mean to be upset, sometimes it just happens.
Over the years I’ve faced many challenges, both physically and mentally and honestly nothing is harder than the fight against your own head. Thankfully I took all the right steps for me personally and have a incredible network of friends and family who were simply a phone call away and always willing to listen, without them I wouldn’t be here today. At his point in my life I’m happy to know that sometimes you just have to get around the corner to see the brighter future ahead.
This time around in support of those whom suffer just like I have, I urge you, when you feel like you can’t go on, pick up the phone and call someone, a friend, a family member or even Lifeline (13 11 14).
To show my support I’ll be raising money for Lifeline to help keep those phone lines active by walking from Newcastle Lighthouse (NSW) to Wollongong Lighthouse (NSW), over 240kms starting from April 26th as a little challenge for myself with an expected arrival date on my birthday May 4th, let’s see how much we can raise!
You’re never alone.
