Help Our Hero, Newborn Nash Carson

The Adventures Of (baby) Nash Carson. Like many folk heroes and super heroes of fables past, the hero of our story is starting life with the odds stacked against him. On August 25, 2018 at 8:11am baby Nash Carson was born at a whopping 5 pounds 8 ounces and nearly 19 inches long. He came out hooting and hollering and raising all kinds of general mayhem in his OR delivery room.

Nash’s Mom, known as Princess to many of those dear to her, had a condition known as placenta previa. Her placenta had not detached as it should have and was blocking the birthing canal. This condition was caught early and there came a time when specialists decided that surgery had to be scheduled early to keep Princess safe and healthy. Baby Nash was set to enter this World at 36 weeks of gestation.

So begins the Great Adventure of our Hero, Baby Nash Carson. Shortly after causing all kinds of chaos and pure joy in his delivery room Nash began having a hard time getting a good breath in. His lungs were in distress so he was whisked away to the Intensive Care Unit at Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA. They saw that Nash would breathe well at times, then start to nearly choke and not be able to breathe. Quickly doctors realized what was making Nash choke and another adventure was set in course. Nash and his sidekick (Daddy) hopped inside a helicopter and they set off for the NICU at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital that is part of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. (Some of Nash’s uncles are big USC fans but, they all decided to put that football beef aside until another day.)

You see early in Nash’s development when he was only a dividing ball of cellular activity a couple cells that were supposed to connect his mouth to his stomach were confused and connected to his airway instead. That condition known as TEF could not fix itself and Nash needed a top notch team of surgeons to reconnect his plumbing in the correct way. That surgery was done by the time he was only 1 day old!

While healing from his first surgery, Nash suffered complications from the pain medication he was on. His sensitivity to pain medication resulted in severe respiratory distress and his heart was failing. The emergency teams were rapid in their response to initiate life saving measures as well as emergency chest tube surgery at Nash's bedside due to a collapsed lung. His fighter spirit wouldn't waiver and he pulled through the  and stabilized the net day.

He has been recovering ever since and is fighting hard to get healthy enough to move on to FUN adventures with his five brothers and sisters. While this little hero is healing his parents Brian and Amanda have been by his side away from their other children, their home and of course unable to work. Nash’s first big adventure requires him to be in the NICU for at least a month followed by continued care.

Please, consider making a donation today so that we can help Brian and Amanda continue to care for our hero baby Nash and their other five children. Donations will cover the cost of Nash’s medical bills, medication, hotels/AirB&B’s, child care for their other children, food and other necessities during this critical time. Please share with followers, friends and family that you feel might be inspired to support!

This Nash guy is truly a warrior, an outlaw and he’s destined for an amazing life full of adventure! He has the biggest and badest family support system in the West and they all know he’s going to do big things with your support and love!

Thank you for your love and support!
