For Newbie the History Bird

UPDATE: Just want to inform you all that the Central Park Conservancy has located a tree to endow in Newbie's honor, from right where he was found. There will be a paving stone put on Literary Walk in Newbie's honor. Watch here for more!
Greetings all.
In the past few days, I've been amazed to see how many lives my little green bird touched in three short years. Again and again, people have said that he was a small bright light of love and joy in dark times. He certainly was for me. I miss him more than I can say.
In that spirit, I'd like to give two gifts in Newbie's name.
1. He was a rescue bird, found in Central Park (about to be eaten by a dog!) I'd like to give back to the Park in some way, perhaps by endowing a tree in his name, as a home for future little birds like Newbie. I've been in touch with Central Park Conservancy, so details are being hashed out.
2. I'd like to give a gift to New York City's Wild Bird Fund, that works so hard to care for wild or abandoned birds like Newbie. If you'd like to learn more about them, their website is here: https://www.wildbirdfund.org/
The size of these two gifts will depend on how much we collect. I have no expectations. The GoFundMe program forced me to set a financial goal -- but however much we raise will be enough.
In such dark times, this is indeed a very small light.
But for that reason, I'd love to offer a little tribute to the community of love and kindness that formed around Newbie, the History Bird who knew what's what.
I'll love you forever, bee bee bee.
