New Year, Worsening Reality: Urgent Support for My Family in Gaza

My name is Lubna Alryati, and I currently reside in New York City. I am reaching out with an urgent plea to support my family in Gaza as they face unimaginable hardship and devastation.

Since October 2023, my family has endured the heartbreaking loss of 53 beloved relatives and the destruction of two homes in Deir El Balah and Rafah. The ongoing crisis, combined with the bitter cold of winter, has made survival even more difficult.

The situation on the ground is dire. Prices for basic necessities such as food, clean water, medicine, and clothing have skyrocketed, making it nearly impossible for families like mine to secure essential supplies. Many of our younger family members—children who should be safe, warm, and fed—are suffering immensely.

• Supplying food and clean water to prevent further hunger and malnutrition.
