New Year, New Trevor !! ❤️

We at the Hudson Valley SPCA are asking for donations for sweet Trevor to obtain a life-saving surgery! Trevor was abused by his previous owners and then abandoned at an NYC shelter. The NYC shelters are in overload and they reached out with a plea to save him to avoid unnecessary euthanasia. We heard this cry for help and agreed to take Trevor. Trevor is doing well in his foster home but needs life-saving surgery to help him eat, drink, and keep him pain-free. Please see the below note from his foster mom for more details on Trevor and his condition:

As many of you may know, shortly before the 2021 holidays I decided to take on a foster pup from the Hudson Valley SPCA for rehabilitation and ended up with the sweetest, most loving little Trevor. Trevor had a rough start to life - being abused and abandoned by his previous owner - and now is in desperate need of surgery.  Trevor has been diagnosed with a cleft pallet, a condition that results from the failure of the roof of the mouth to close during normal development in the womb, thereby leaving a “cleft” in the roof of the mouth. The doctors concluded that Trevor’s cleft is extremely severe and painful as it is unique in the way it extends from the roof of his mouth to behind his lip. As a result, Trevor needs major tooth extractions and oral surgery to keep him comfortable and eating. The procedure he needs is rather difficult and he may end up needing multiple revision surgeries. Unfortunately, this genetic defect has left Trevor with ongoing, chronic sinus infections and battling aspiration pneumonia. Life for him is a constant struggle. Something as simple as eating and drinking is extremely difficult for him. He deserves so much better than this, especially with all he's already been through. I’m personally asking for your help in giving this little guy a second chance at a better life. He is filled with so much life and love and has so much potential.
