This holiday season, I'm asking for those that can, help a family going through an extraordinarily difficult time.

Marcela moved here from Guadalajara seeking a better life for herself and her family. She's been here for 32 years, raised kids, and has worked in nearly every home services job that you can imagine. Her daughter Abby has been a lifelong Chicagoan who grew up in Avondale. They need our help to make sure they can move from their longtime home to somewhere new, so they can start fresh and continue running their cleaning business and caring for Abby's young son.

Marcela's husband recently left the family with back rent due, and all savings gone. Marcela is trying her best to take on as many cleaning jobs as she can, but with several months of back rent due and a shoulder injury she's suffered, she needs help making ends meet. This has been a really hard year for so many in Chicago, and Marcela and Abby have been facing the hard times the best they can. They are kind and caring people. They love our sweet little dog that Abby says is "just a baby," even after he tries to love-tackle her. And they can clean a place and make it feel blessed and refreshed.

I'm asking for you to donate what you can to help ensure that at the start of the New Year, Marcela, Abby, and Abby's son have a new place to call home.

My name is Marcela I'm almost 60 years old, and I've lived in Chicago for 32 years, working so hard and with pleasure in senior care, babysitting, cleaning houses and apartments, mowing the lawn, shoveling the snow, and any job, and I love volunteer on different places. I'm volunteer for 16 years in schools and church.

My dream was to have my own house for my kids and my grandkids and me, to be able to continue working and get ahead, but a lot of things happened in my life, and the Covid- 19 hurt my cleaning business and my family.

You don't know but I don't have many blood-family or friends here, but sometimes an unknown person like all of you is more than that!

I'm very saddened, I know all families have different situations or problems, and I know I'm not the best woman in the world, but believe I always trying and trying so hard to do my best and be here for my family.

Right now, I don't have enough work because of my medical condition from an accident> And as if that were not enough my landlord says she wants the apartment as soon as possible because my husband is not paying the rent for three months.

I need to sell almost everything in my house because I need to move to another place without my husband of 38 years of marriage because he left us with nothing.

I'm so scared and very stressed!
