Have you ever met a "superwoman"? I mean a woman that not only cares deeply for her own family but gives unselfishly to her community. If you haven't met one, let me introduce you to a woman by the name of Tanya Rollins Shadley. There are quite a few things that I could say about her but to be short and sweet, Tanya is a witty, caring and inspirational musical talent. She works diligently at creating programs for our youth that help cultivate their musical and theatrical gifts, all while never missing a beat in caring for her family, especially her oldest son named Meliq.
Meliq has an infectious smile that affects everyone he comes into contact with, and a beautiful, bright personality. He's a growing 13 year old young man with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and has global developmental delays. Due to his non-ambulatory (non-Walker) condition he uses various wheelchairs to get him around, which as he continues to grow in size so does his equipment.
The Shadley Family needs your help in providing a van customized for his special needs that will enable them to help him maintain his mobility and liberty . Additionally, it will provide relief to the primary care giver (mom -who is only 5ft. In stature), from the strenuous physical challenges that she faces in lifting him in and out of their current vehicle.
If you would find it in your heart to give toward's Meliq's continued mobility and liberty, it would be greatly appreciated! Despite obstacles, Tanya and her husband continue to work together to inspire the next generation and not having to worry about reliable transportation for Meliq would be a huge relief. Please know that your labor of love will never be in vain and will continue to be a blessing to this family for years to come.
