Hi my name is Lisa and I am

asking for help for a new set of wheels for Jabba from the wonderful Stafford family/community that we are part of who also helped my boy Hank in his hour of need in 2021.

He would not be here today without the help we received and we will always be forever grateful for that ❤️… So now it’s our turn to help out with his old favourite sparing partner.

In the space of 2 weeks between shows Jabba went from being a dog that did 4-8 miles a day at 11.5yrs of age, being a little unsteady on his rear legs to showing signs of neurological deficit with a slow response to 'righting' his paws after them being knuckled under.

An x-ray taken the following week showed there to be lessened space between two of his vertebrae, likely being IVDD Hansen Type II, with a disc rupturing and permeating into his spinal cord, damaging the nerve signals from his brain to his rear legs and in particular his proprioception. (General awareness of where his legs are and what they are doing.)

Sadly he has continued to decline and now only 2mths later, he is putting most of his weight through his front and wearing the tops of his boots out on his rear paws within just a couple of walks due to dragging them.

It is hoped that wheels will help to take some pressure off his front and spine so that he can enjoy walks without them being such a struggle and causing further damage and decline.

The wheels will remain for use within the Stafford Community if/when Jabba can no longer use them. Xx
