New Wheels for Davina!

Dear Friends and Family,

We are reaching out to you asking for help. Over 15 years ago, Davina Weinhold suffered a catastrophic illness that left her wheelchair bound. We have watched as Davina and Joel have overcome many hurdles and roadblocks in the intervening years. Our hearts remain full as we watch them live each day in the strength and joy of the Lord.

A new roadblock has come into their lives that we are asking for your prayers and financial help for them to overcome.

Davina has passed her driver's test! A specialized instructor put her through some grueling days of driving to see what accommodations would be necessary for her to once more have the freedom to be able to drive.

Oh, the joy on their faces as they realized that the possibilities we take for granted are now a viable option! Davina could now do things like get groceries when needed or pick up a sick child at school. She could make appointments without needing to consult with others on availability. And she will be able to take and pick up her children from work and activities.

Program funding is available to retrofit a vehicle with the specialized wheelchair and driving accommodations needed for Davina to safely drive. However, they will only retrofit a vehicle less than 3 years old. Their present wheelchair accessible van is a far cry from meeting that criteria! The retrofit funding will be available for a 6-month period. After that, they would need to go through the grant application again. We are asking for your prayers and financial assistance as the price of a wheelchair van that meets the parameters seems astronomical.

Our hearts rejoice as we look back on the faithfulness of God in Joel and Davina's lives. And we continue to place their future in his hands.
