Help Scotty Get a New Wheelchair Van

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out on behalf of someone who has quietly, consistently, and selflessly touched all of our lives—Scotty.

Right now, Scotty needs our help. The wheelchair-accessible van he depends on is quite literally rotting away beneath him. It’s no longer safe or reliable, and it’s making everyday life—something many of us take for granted—more difficult and dangerous for him.

For those of you who know Scotty, you know exactly the kind of person he is. He’s the first to show up when a family is grieving, or when there’s a birthday to celebrate. He’s there when someone’s sick, or just needs a listening ear. No matter what he’s personally going through, Scotty always makes time for others.

Despite his own challenges, Scotty volunteers in a support group for others living life in a wheelchair. He even drives another member—using the same unreliable van—so they can attend meetings and connect with people who understand what they’re going through. He’s also been a youth baseball coach and a high school substitute teacher, bringing patience, wisdom, and empathy to the classroom. And no matter what your story or perspective is, he listens without judgment.

Scotty never complains. He downplays his own struggles and always focuses on others. But now, it’s time we focus on him.

We’re asking you—our community, his friends, and anyone who has been touched by his kindness—to help raise the funds needed to buy Scotty a safe, dependable, and fully accessible wheelchair van.

I know asking for help isn’t easy. And Scotty would be the last one to do it himself. But this isn’t a handout—it’s a thank you. A chance to give back to someone who’s given so much of his heart and time to all of us.

Please consider donating whatever you can. Every bit helps, and if you’re not able to contribute right now, sharing this with others would mean the world.

Let’s come together and help Scotty keep moving—because he’s always been there to help us do the same.
