New Weatherproof Stations of the Cross

Hi, my name is Stuart Cremer, and I am a Life Scout working on my Eagle Scout project. I have been a Scout since I was in first grade, and earning my Eagle rank has been an aspiration of mine for the entire journey. In hopes of effecting a lasting change though my project, I will be replacing the temporary outdoor Stations of the Cross to make them permanent. The temporary stations were erected during the pandemic when we could not be in church.  Making these outdoor stations permanent provides a way for parishioners to safely pray the stations even when the church is closed. Each of the existing 14 stations will have the laminated sheet replaced with a beautiful new image protected within a weatherproof shrine. I've met with Fr. John and have his approval for the design and materials to be used. This new installation should last a decade or more, maintenance free.

 

I have reached one of the major hurdles in the project: fundraising. I am reaching out to you to help me in my endeavor. With a budget of $2,500, I can purchase the weatherproof shrines, affix the new images, seal them, and install them in the Saint William Church courtyard. I will also be adding station numbers to each shrine. And so they won’t unionize, I’d like to feed my work crew. I am grateful to all of the Scouts and adult leaders from Troops 321 and 103, as well as students from St. Nicholas School, Saint Francis High School, and Bellarmine who are volunteering the labor needed to complete this project. These new Stations will be completed before March 2022, in time for Lent this year.
