Help a Disabled Homeless Veteran Get Relief from the Heat and Back on His Feet
Hello, my name is Rob, and I recently had the honor of meeting Laz — a disabled homeless veteran who has endured more than most of us can imagine. Despite living on the streets and navigating the world with severe physical limitations, Laz carries himself with resilience, humility, and dignity.
Laz relies on a heavy-duty walker not only to walk, but to carry all of his belongings. Unfortunately, his walker is falling apart. Some of the welds have broken, and the rear legs have bent outward, causing the wheels to sit at an angle and wear out quickly. I've repaired and replaced his wheels twice, but it's simply no longer safe or reliable for him. He’s in urgent need of a new heavy-duty walker — one designed to properly support his weight and belongings — so he can move safely and maintain what little independence he has.
But that’s just one part of what Laz needs.
With your help, I want to raise $500 to provide Laz with:
A brand-new, heavy-duty walker built to last
A large umbrella or canopy to shield him from the brutal summer heat
A few nights in a hotel to rest, shower, and recover in safety
A haircut and shave to restore a sense of dignity and self-confidence
A hot meal and basic essentials to help him move forward
No one — especially not a veteran who has served our country — should be left without basic comfort, safety, or shelter.
This small act of kindness can make a huge difference in Laz’s life. Whether you can donate $5 or $50, every dollar will go directly to supporting him in a meaningful and immediate way.
Thank you for taking the time to read Laz’s story. If you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this with others. Together, we can show Laz that he’s not invisible — and that people still care.
With gratitude,
Rob
