Hi. My name is Doug Rester, and I need a new van. My current van is 24 years old, has over 200,000 miles on it and frankly, we’re not sure how much longer it will continue running. I was born with Duchene’s Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive neuromuscular disease that has left me as a quadriplegic, and without reliable transportation, I can’t leave the house to make doctors’ and other appointments, visit friends or family or go on other outings. I’ve found a used van, a 2015, with 50,000 miles, but the lock-down mechanism for my wheelchair needs to be modified. The van is available for $20,000 and the lock down mechanism shouldn’t cost more than $1,000 to $2,000. That’s a total of $22,000 that I need to raise to purchase the van and get the lock-down device modified or replaced.

Before the pandemic, I was very outgoing and could do everything previously mentioned. I would like to start doing that again. A new van would return freedom to my life. Please help me reach the goal of $22,000. Thank you very much.
