My Brother David Szwaczkowski was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (P.P.M.S.) in 2021, at that time he was only 33. Dave had been to college and was working as a certified auto mechanic full time and taking care of his 2 young daughters aged 6 & 8 . In 18 months he went from working to being unable to walk and in a wheelchair, and unable to use his left hand.
David currently has a 2011 Toyota Sienna ramp van with over 150,000 miles with many problems The frame is rusting out and has been patch welded in 4 different areas, the side ramp will not come down without help and the lower A-frame and the rear shock on the right side have busted and broken off. He owes over $9500.00 on this van. We were told it may not pass inspection this year. We are looking for donations to pay off this van and hopefully have enough money to put a down payment or buy a newer van.
Dave has many Dr. appointments every month, he sees a neurologist his primary care, urologist, physical therapy and also an orthopedic DR. David also has to have yearly MRI'S on his brain and spine, He goes to the Dent Center every 3 months for his P.P.M.S. Transportation is vital for the many appointments Dave has every month. David and his power wheelchair need to fit into a van, to get him to his different appointments.
David lives with our parents, my Dad transfers Dave from his bed to his powerchair, and they also take Dave to his medical appointments. They also like to do things with Dave and his girls, like go to the park maybe a zoo or just to get some ice cream. Not to mention anything they do at school, that Dave would like to attend.
We thank you in advance, for any donations and they will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Erica
