Hello, and welcome to our fundraising page!
We are developing a wide range of exciting, modern content to attract new, younger players to the game of bridge. Alongside our innovative tutorial content, we are producing a tournament series, featuring world class players, to be shown over 14 episodes on YouTube. The first episode is now live, and can be seen here Tournament Series, Episode One . This is fantastic entertainment as well as being a great masterclass for players of all levels, and will help to promote our beginners' tutorial content. All of the players and commentators involved have given their time voluntarily because they support the aims of the New Tricks project. We need your help to produce all of this great stuff.
Any donation you make will go a long way to helping us realise our goals.
Please be aware that by default, any donation you make will be shown on our page, along with your GoFundMe account name. If you'd like to make your donation anonymously, please consult this page for instructions. (We can also retrospectively change the donation to anonymous if required, please let us know if you would like us to do this).

Donations to this fundraiser will enable us to meet various ongoing expenses related to production of both aspects of the New Tricks project. These include:
- Purchase of cameras, microphones, photographic backdrops etc to create a studio environment
- Hire of photographic lighting and backdrop frames
- Travel expenses to bring players to film location (four from overseas)
- Purchase of duplicate boards and cards
- Hire of professional videographer for three days of filming
- Provision of trophy and nominal prize money
- Ongoing editing costs of the Tournament Series
- Ongoing animation costs of the tutorial series
- Marketing costs, including website development and social media promotional campaigns
We initially contacted a television production company to get a quote for the Tournament Series production only, their quote was £267,652 (excluding travel costs)! We have found better, more efficient ways to deliver this content, and the £25,000 total we have set on this fundraiser will cover all of our production expenses, for both video series. Any funds raised beyond the actual costs of production of both series will go towards further development of educational content, possibly including another Tournament Series next year.
Initial donations to this fundraiser will be processed through the personal account of the organiser, Sue Johnson, to repay loans made to the organisation to fund expenditure to date. Our application for charitable status is currently with the Charities Commission. As soon as our status is confirmed we will be able to open a business account in the name of New Tricks Bridge Club and all funds after the repayment of loans will be deposited into that account.
