New Tents & Sound Hare Krishna Festival Of India

As we all know, the nature of existence is change. We've been fortunate that our change has been a gradual increase in the number of festivals we do every year. We've gone from just a few festivals in 1979, to more than 30 festivals a year--which all have had a positive & transcendental impact on millions of people! In a letter Srila Prabhupada wrote to Sudama in 1973 he said “Your program for traveling & holding festivals is approved by me.” Festival of India is by far the longest running, most stable and effective preaching program in North America.

It is in the spirit of humility that we’re asking for your help. Like many, we've been affected negatively by the world's events as of late. Over the last two years the cost of diesel fuel had gone up exponentially. People all over are appreciating more than ever the opportunity to participate in Ratha-Yatra parades and Hare Krishna festivals. We went from having 1 festival in 2020 to 8 festivals in 2021 to once again having over 20 festivals this year, 2022. This year we’re seeing expansion, every festival has been attended by more people than previous years. Here are the ways we are looking for help and sponsorship:

First, festivals are growing. Because of that, we need to obtain more tents to continue in our service to the hundreds of thousands of festival goers that benefit from our transcendental exhibitions and productions. When we consider our future-year budgets we always first ascertain what the needs of the temples are. In our estimation, we currently need 10--10’ x10' high peak tents and 2—30’ x 30' high peak tents. Combined cost of those 12 new tents is $34,000.

Second, our sound system, which was once a state of the art system, needs to be upgraded from an analog to a digital system. We're looking to replace our soundboard and speaker system. This alone costs $15,000.

We go to great lengths to nicely maintain Festival of India’s equipment, as can be seen from the age of our current exhibits; sound system; tent tops; and trailer.

Festival of India has completed more than 1,000 programs over the last 42 years. Please assist us in continuing in that way for at least another 42 years. More information about Harinam Festivals Inc: Festival of India aka Harinam Festivals Inc does cultural presentations introducing the general public to the Vedic Culture of Vaisnava India. Exhibits explain: Reincarnation; Vegetarianism; Srila Prabhupada (the greatest exponent of Krishna consciousness in the western world) Bhagavad-Gita As It Is; and Transcendental Art. Stage programs are focused on Mantra Yoga--the chanting of the: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Mantra, and sacred drama.
