New school car for Meath School

Meath School is a specialist residential provision for children with Speech, Language and Communication challenges aged from 4-11. When starting at the school many of our children have developmental trauma from adverse events causing mental health difficulties, low self-belief, and low resilience. Their communication challenges make it difficult for them to communicate their needs, wants and feelings. Children have been in environments where they are not understood and are not included in social events with their peers. This is why we feel its so important to take the children out into the non-school environment to over-come and try new things. Our school car plays a vital role in our children's learning journey. With the current car being over 18 years old, it’s certainly time to retire and buy something new moving forward. The car does many trips a week including taking the children to the local swimming pool, after school clubs, choir and by the residential team. It plays a crucial part in the day to day life at Meath and we simply couldn't be without it. In addition to this, our premises team occasionally use it to collect items to continue with the upkeep of our wonderful school.
