I’m setting up this fundraiser to help one of our very active community members in the Wenatchee Valley....and one of my life long friends. Tracy Trotter and her daughter need our help. Tracy has grown up in Wenatchee, and the home she grew up in…is now in a precarious situation. She needs help with attorney fees to save her home, and get a roof on the home. Tracy has done all the work on the home herself, and putting a roof on solo is an impossible task. Her kitchen sink is currently held together by a wrench vs. a handle. Read below to learn more.
Tracy Trotter along with her daughter Tatum moved into her mother’s home (Arlene Trotter) to help care for her mom – Arlene was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Tracy became a live-in caregiver for her mom, as well as taking over the mortgage payments on the home. Over time Arlene needed additional care and Medicaid stepped in to assist with some amazing local people to assist Tracy’s care for her mom. This is also the home that Tracy grew up in…it holds thousands of memories, and a close connection to her mom who has since passed away.
After Arlene’s passing the state Medicaid office stated that Arlene’s estate owed them well over 245,000.00! (Even though Tracy’s extra help kept Arlene from needing full-time assistance /or nursing home care which was Arlene’s wish NOT to be placed into a facility).
Now, In order for Tracy and Tatum to stay in their family home, they have had to prove a “hardship” . Which in this time of Covid has been difficult for everyone.
Currently, the homeowner insurance will be dropping their coverage to the home due to it needing a new roof. The mortgage (which Tracy has been paying for 10 years) cannot be borrowed against due to the state “estate recovery” for Medicaid. (This mortgage is in the name of “Arlene Trotter”. Tracy is just now getting back on her feet but has no resources to borrow or pay for the new roof on the family home. There are also some legal fees involved throughout this process as well, and a combination of both the roof and legal fees has become overwhelming.
Tracy does so much for our community, gives with her entire heart, and is always giving back to others without asking for anything in return. When "Covid" hit, she was not eligible for unemployment which didn't help through this process of trying to save her family home. I would love to see our community pull together, to embrace her and her daughter, and help them save their family home….and put a roof on the house before winter.
This fundraiser is in place to put a roof on Tracy's home, so she can get her home re-insured and continue the fight to keep her family home. Funds will also go towards legal fees to help secure her family home, keep it in her name, and replace the roof.
Cashmere Valley Bank also has a "Donors" account setup in the name of Tracy Trotter if you prefer to donate locally through Cashmere Valley Bank. Send an email for more information and we can get the account number your way.
No donation is too small. All funds will go towards a new roof and legal fees.
