My name is Alli and I'm opening a new queer bar called There/There in the former Friends and Family space (RIP) in Oakland, CA. I couldn't let the hole that was left in hearts of Oakland's nightlife and queer community remain empty. As the former chef of Friends and Family, I cultivated a deep connection with the clientele and would love the opportunity to continue to serve you all :) Let's run it back, this time a little different: I plan on streamlining the space into a more bar-focused service Tuesday-Saturday with a wide variety of community events ranging from weeknight artist talks and chess club to weekend bangers and sweaty dance parties. I'd like to invite my community to join me in breathing new life into the space. I can't wait to see you all There/There <3
