Friends of Leafield School is the parent-run charity supporting Leafield C of E Primary School, near Witney in West Oxfordshire. People like you are the reason that the Friends of Leafield School (PTA) have been able to support Leafield School with vital funds to support their very limited budget. With help from local businesses, parents, and other members of our wonderful community, we have raised money for many improvements to the school, including a new cabin, storage sheds, creation of a new library and quiet zone for SEND children along with many a school trip and essential school supplies. .

School staff are in the process of enriching and developing the children's playtimes. Some of the changes they have made include opening up all spaces including the garden to allow for a 'free flow' at playtimes. Part of this project is to add more interest to the playgrounds to offer the children more to do, and they spent a lot of time getting the children's wish list of what they would like to have to play with.

They are looking to upgrade the playgrounds which add items like climbing frames, stepping-stones, and floor markings such as a sensory circuit. The top playground is where they would like to develop first as that is a complete blank canvass, and there is a design that all the teachers have agreed upon.

The design offers a selection of fun activities for the children, while still allowing plenty of free space for outdoor learning. It encompasses a 'climbing' element, which is beneficial for those children with higher needs, but is not too overwhelming in its design. The climbing apparatus is all treated wood with anti-slip tops, so long lasting and complimentary to the surrounding area.

This of course comes at a cost, and we are in the process of fundraising specifically for the playgrounds and other works around the school building.
