New Pianos for Music Studio
Donation protected
I have been teaching piano in the Tallahassee area since 1996. During that time, I have taught hundreds of students, a good portion of which have gone on to become professional musicians.
My studio is equipped with two Baldwin grand pianos from 1976. Due to their age and the amount of use they get, they need major work (new action, strings, hammers and dampers). The amount of the repairs will easily equal or exceed the amount needed to buy two gently used, reliable, grand pianos.
I am trying to purchase two $30,000 pianos which would serve the next generation of pianists in Tallahassee.
My studio serves students in need through the Music Link Foundation. Through this foundation, I volunteer my time to teach students who would otherwise not have access to piano lessons, and make those lessons free for them.
My students are reward for sharing music with others and being involved in the world of music.
Students who play their instrument in retirement homes, school functions, share their knowledge of music with a friend, sibling or parent, or who attend music performances in their community, receive rewards, and are recognized at the Spring Recital.
As an additional service to the community, my studio is currently open to all piano students in the city for recordings and college audition taping. The two new pianos would greatly benefit these students as well.
I am trying to purchase these pianos in time for the new year.
As a token of our appreciation for your donation, all donors will receive a recording of students performing pieces on the new pianos that you helped us purchase.
