New Orleans Improvisers Go International
Donation protected
A super great thing about improv comedy is that it can connect folks from around the world. Six talented comedians from New Orleans have been accepted to perform at the Edinburgh International Improv Festival this March, and we’d greatly appreciate your support in traveling there.
Improv comedy is such a joy-filled, positive, expressive art form that centers on collaboration and imagination. Getting to do this in a new environment with new people as well as show off New Orleans talent is an adventure that will last beyond this one trip. In addition to performing, we’ll learn from and connect with so many other improvisers, allowing us to bring new ideas back to support creativity in New Orleans.
The group headed to Edinburgh includes Scott Anderson, Jennie Bodenstein, Rhonda Anne, Andy Ledford, Carrie Moulder, and Emily Slazer. If we added up all the years these improvisers have been doing comedy, we’d get nearly half a century. And, none of them have traveled out of the United States to perform.
We didn’t want to miss this opportunity because of finances, so we’re asking for your generosity to cover plane fare, lodging, and a per diem for each performer. Our expenses are as follows:
$6,700 for flights
$2,300 for lodging
$1,500 for per diems ($50 per person per day)
$10,500 total
Any additional funds raised beyond our goal will be shared among the performers.
Thank you for considering contributing to our trip, and we promise to use this opportunity to show the creativity and fun New Orleans brings everywhere it goes!
