2 New Murals to Beautify North Beach!

Donation protected

Did you love the superhero and firefighter mural protecting the citizens of North Beach adding color to the neighborhood since 2019 ?! Do you love murals and want to support artists that bring these to you ?!

It’s high time for a refresh of these amazing walls from the same talented experienced crew (with some new talent) with new artwork for us all to enjoy! After your feedback and engagement with the great North Beach citizens, we have come up with fresh concepts that we are looking to get started on right away if we can raise the right funds to just cover our costs and pay the artists!

We have 2 large-scale productions (Double your pleasure!) planned for the entire building at 684 Union that we need your help to bring to life:

Mural 1: “North Beach Speakeasy”
Team assembled & ready to paint once we raise funds!
Our target date to paint is April 28th, 2023

Rough sketch of the mural:

The centerpiece homage to jazz singers of the day by Kurupt is what we will paint while the pieces are placeholders to illustrate the concept but they will painted in black, white, and greys.

Executed by some of the best graffiti artists in the world (Yes, many live right here in the Bay Area!), from the pioneering worldwide aerosoul crew (1971!) Ex-Vandals & the blockbuster master Illuminaries, they are going to deliver that same superhero quality that lasted since 2019 but with a new nightime spin! Think jazz, music, cocktails, nightlife, & amazing singers!

Mural 2: “Tides of change”
On the Powell side of the street, we have one of the new murals painted and ready to experience! Now we need to get the artists paid for their supplies, time, passion and craftsmanship!

The finished masterpiece:

As the tides rise the bubbles reach the surface of the Pacific. Behind is a sunset lit sight of the golden gate bridge next to the heads of broken sculptures, symbols of an honored past come and gone. The Chinese sculpture pays honor to Chinatown, and the three birds represent the artists, Pablo “Raiz” Arroyo, Eon75, and Pancho Pescador.

The mural projects are produced by the What Then Art Now mural arts organization. Danielone & Pengo lead the "North Beach Speakeasy" mural production and overall concept. 100% of all monies raised will go towards supplies for the murals and then to compensate the artists.
