Barelas Podcasters Guild

A group of local Podcasters in New Mexico are taking our love of NM and its amazing people and stories and forming the first New Mexico Indie Podcast Cooperative.   We believe that everyone has a voice and a story to tell and we want to empower our community and state to tell theirs.  We are coming together to offer the community empowerment, tools, recording and editing space as well as a sense of encouragement and education.  We want to hear what New Mexicans have to say about many topics and give them the platform and tools to create a podcast.  Our space (in the Barelas Neighborhood) will give creators a physical place to record and meet, educate and create.  Why Barelas?  Its ideally New Mexican!  Barelas is an economic gem of a neighborhood in the heart of downtown with its own unique story to tell, from generations past, present and future.  It is our goal to bring a creative space to the heart of a creative community and infuse it with life and voices of those New Mexicans that need a place to speak.  We are fundraising for money to rent a space in the historic Ruppe Drugstore building in Barelas, as well as equipment to get up and running.  We aim to benefit all those creating podcast content as well as the direct neighborhood of Barelas and greater downtown.  Ideally we would like to try and sign a lease for space by June to secure our place and start outfitting for public use.   This support helps local Podcasters and creators as well as anybody who has ever had something to say, but hasn't really been sure how to start.  Let's get started telling your story!  Together, we can unify the voices of New Mexcians and preserve our oral history by teaching and empowering those voices to speak, just pass the mic.  Thank you in advance for helping us create a place to do this!
