Kenny Loughead's Double Lung Transplant
Donation protected
Kenny and Angela, life long residents of Truro, NS have been living in Toronto, away from their hometown since August 2018. Approximately five years ago Kenny was diagnosed with COPD. Once a very active athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Kenny has unfortunately been on oxygen full time since March 2018. Early last year, Kenny and Angela had to leave their home and move into The Holiday Inn for several months because neither of them could navigate the steps in their split level. During that time, Kenny had a life threatening asthma attack that landed him in the ICU for several weeks.
After extensive medical testing in Toronto, Kenny received the amazing news that he has been identified as a suitable candidate to receive new lungs! This process could take up to a year and, as one might imagine, the costs of living in Toronto are not minimal. In addition, several caregivers will be required to travel to Toronto to help once Kenny has had the surgery.
Up until this point, Kenny and Angela have refused to accept any financial assistance but due to the length of time required in Toronto, all of their extended family and friends feel that now is the time to step in and offer additional support in any way we can. Anyone who knows Kenny and Angela know that they would do anything for anyone, without question.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and read their story. Please share and spread the word, and any support you can offer Kenny and Angela during this difficult time is truly appreciated!
