I’m a proud father raising three amazing kids (Ryder, Emily, and Makyla) with my beautiful partner (Jenny). I don't smoke, don't drink, and live an active, healthy lifestyle. In November 2023, I was rushed to the hospital with pneumonia. Doctors gave me a one-in-three chance of survival and began discussing a lung transplant. By what felt like a miracle, I pulled through and began the road to recovery. Sadly, that recovery was short-lived.
This pneumonia caused irreversible damage to my lungs. Now, I need a lung transplant to survive — to have a chance at more time with my family, to be there for their milestones, and simply to breathe without struggle.
While the transplant surgery itself is covered, I’ve learned from doctors and others who’ve been through this that the real costs go far beyond that. Medical bills and living expenses from before my diagnosis, during treatment, and throughout recovery -along with travel, temporary relocation near the transplant center, medications, post-op care, and lost income — add up fast. One couple I spoke with ended up over $100,000 in debt, even with insurance.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Every dollar raised will go toward covering these medical bills and essential expenses before, during and after my recovery. — If there’s anything left over, I would to use it to make future arrangements, so that if the worst happens, my family has less to worry about.
If you’re not in a place to donate, I completely understand — sharing this page is another powerful way to help. Every share could make a difference, and every bit of support means more than I can put into words.
I just want more time with my family. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for any support you can offer.
With love and gratitude,
Cody Brown
