On July 2nd, 2019, Tara Lischynski was transported to Selkirk Regional Health complex after rapidly developing multiple symptoms of liver damage.
The next day our worst fears came to life as doctors informed us that Tara's liver was severely damaged and on its way to complete failure. This news caught our family completely off guard, as Tara has always had good health, visits her doctor regularly, and has no history of alcohol or drug abuse. Rather, the damage was likely a result of a rare autoimmune disorder which tricks the body into attacking itself. For Tara it targeted her liver.
She has since been transferred to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, and then airlifted to Toronto General Hospital where she is awaiting transplant and a confirmation of a diagnosis.
Despite a long couple weeks consisting of countless blood samples, multiple blood transfusions, fluid drainage from her abdomen, and many other tests, we are still only at the beginning of this journey. A journey that has already accumulated significant costs, with many more ahead.
This is why we are asking you to please donate to help our family get our mother and friend back to full health.
