New Little Free Libraries for Royal Palm Beach, FL
Donation protected
My name is Erin Franklin and I am a Palm Beach County, Florida native and resident. I found this Little Free Library program from a childhood friend who lives in Lake Worth Beach and placed one in her yard. What a great idea!!! I also decided to go to the Village of Royal Palm Beach to get this approved for my yard in 2018. Well, it was so well loved by so many in the neighborhood, that I decided to bring the idea to the Parks & Recreation Department in the Village of Royal Palm Beach, and we were approved to place 10 in the area parks for all the residents to enjoy We got them registered and maintained them. We had a village councilwoman help us write a grant to get 5 of them paid for and books donated to them. Shortly after, COVID-19 happened and the kids were away from school and the library was closed and these little libraries kept our kids reading. Being in South Florida with all the elements, 5 years has been hard on these little wooden libraries. I would love to purchase new libraries for these neighborhood parks for the families to continue enjoying. Your donations will help me bring new Little Free Libraries to our parks. They cost between 150-200 each, so this initial amount would help replace about half. If we get more, I would love to eventually replace them all, or even place more in the new upcoming parks. Thank you for your consideration.
