I first met Mary Louise when I attended a small Bible College, she was the Dean of Women. She was passionate about her faith, loved people and was an encouragement.
After leaving the Bible college she stayed in ministry and is currently the lead Pastor of Christian Life Center in Douglas, AZ. A border town to Mexico.
But what I want to share is her reliability- her obedience to the LORD.
One night she was awoken at about 3:00 a.m. and felt led to pray for my son. And so she prayed.
At the same time on the other side of the world, my son was deployed in Iraq. As time went on the U.S. military was being pulled out of that nation. He was in a convoy headed out and they had parked alongside the road for some rest. His caiman, a heavy armor-protected vehicle, was the caboose/the last vehicle in the convoy. The gunner was keeping a lookout from the hatch when he suddenly dropped down and yelled, "Brace for Impact!" A full-size semi-truck traveling at a high speed was headed toward their vehicle.
It sent the caiman rolling three times. There were 4 men in the vehicle, including my son - and all were injured. My son was hit in the head, but being the medic his first job was to check all the others in the vehicle. When they got everyone out he performed the evaluations and called for each man's evacuation. (helicopter out). He would later say that everything seemed mechanical to him. He was calling out instructions and codes and it was just coming out of his mouth but he didn't seem to be there. It was like muscle memory.
Lastly, he called over the radio for his evacuation.
I am so thankful that Mary Louise didn't just hear the Lord prompting her to pray and decided to go back to sleep. No, she prayed, and she prayed fervently. She had never met my son. And somehow she recalled his name in the middle of the night and began to pray. That is someone sensitive to the Lord's bidding.
And that brings me to the current situation. Mary Louise has cataracts and needs new lenses for her eyes to see clearly. Please join us in helping her get the funds for this surgery. As she pastors a small church on the Mexico border it would be a blessing for them in helping with this medical expense.
She is a person who anyone can count on. I will be forever thankful for praying for someone she never met. For praying for my son. He completed his term with the Army. He is now married and has 3 children.
Please donate whatever you can to help Mary Louise pay for the surgery to get her new lenses in both eyes so she can continue unhindered in ministry and also with the lives she touches every day.
