Nitty Gritty is a play-based preschool in Redwood City dedicated to creating a quality early educational experience for children. The school believes that young children learn best in a safe, nurturing environment that provides opportunities for them to develop by participating in activities that are age -appropriate and individual in nature. The school is also dedicated to teaching social and emotional learning, which has been invaluable during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The front yard of Nitty Gritty has historically been used as a place for the children to gather after school and continue play. Additionally, it provides a chance for the parents/caregivers of the students to get to know one another. With a little extra funding, the school can remove undesired plants and rocks, install turf and new plantings, and create an environment for the children that is both fun and safe.
I have been with Nitty Gritty for 5 years (both of my daughters attended preschool there) and I could not be happier with the school. The emotional maturity that my children have gained is immeasurable. More importantly, the school's director and teachers believe in working in partnership with parents to achieve the best for their students; they are always available for advice, understanding, and reinforcement of teaching both in the classroom and at home. Both of my children will leave the school kindergarten-ready, not just in academics, but also in social/emotional development. It is my pleasure to share my story in the hopes of giving back to a school that has done so much for my family.
Help make 2020's holiday season joyous for this school and donate today. Thank you!
