Hello everyone!! My name is Beth Kitchen and I have come here to humbly ask for your help. My amazing and supremely talented partner, David George, who some of you may know as "Eljay" from his time with Radio Memphis, is having a total knee replacement in January of 2025 (UPDATE: MARCH 24, 2025!). This will have quite the impact to his financial health. What you might not know, is that just recently, he had another financial hit in November 2024 when he had to go to the ER with super high blood pressure, mild chest pain and cold sweats. He spent 5 days in the hospital and had a full lab and imaging workup, including a heart catheter. Thankfully no stint or surgery was needed- just a few new medication and lifestyle changes. Because of the timing of the hospital visit and the upcoming knee surgery, he has 2 max out of pocket costs ($6000 each year) to meet. Unfortunately he doesn't have very many sick days. Even with short term disability covering a portion of his day job salary for a couple of months and help from family, these medical events are still financially devastating for an artist that has been trying like hell for the past few years to share their musical and artistic gifts with the world.

In additional to being an amazing dad to his son Austin, David is a professional singer, actor and musical theater performer. For him to continue to follow his dream of some day working as a professional performer again and put his amazing voice and theater skills to work, just the one good knee won't do! As many of our creative friends know, the goal is to work in the field you love, doing the thing you are good at. I've told him many, many times....David, people NEED to hear YOUR voice.

UPDATE! David's knee surgery is being rescheduling because the surgeon wants to get a different ailment (cysts and back/side pain) checked out first. Argh! I will keep everyone updated on the new date once we find out more.

NEW UPDATE 1/29/2025: We have a new surgery date! March 24th, 2025 is the day. The surgeon wanted to make sure his kidney cysts were benign and they are. He also wants David to lose 10-15 lbs. Onward we march!
