Waking up to the local news of a horrific accident the morning after Christmas that left 4 young men dead was tragic enough...to then hear it was one of our dedicated co-workers of over 5 years Kevin Quispe and his 23 year old brother Jimmy Quispe is mind-blowing. The four boys whose lives were lost in this accident were all friends, Kevin, Jimmy, Victor Lugo, and Robert Ordenna. All four of the boys were under 25, live in our community and have touched our lives in many different ways.
Kevin, a 21 year old young man, worked with us at Christian Pools through most of his high school and then his college years. As a co-worker he was dedicated, loyal, and more than helpful. He was our store translator for our Spanish speaking customers and you can tell he was proud to do so. He worked so hard this summer working 6 sometimes 7 days a week to save up for this car. He was impressed with himself and his new car and we were all so proud of him for the accomplishment. He was a hard worker that will be sincerely missed.
Getting to know Kevin over the years we had learned his family migrated to this country only 16 years ago. His parents worked very hard to raise 4 boys and I cannot speak for all of the boys but I can say they did an amazing job raising Kevin into a compassionate young man with a heart of gold, truly. At such a young age Kevin knew the value of family and cherished his family deeply.
We heard late yesterday that upon receiving the news of the tragic accident, Kevins mother had to be taken to the hospital. This family works hard to make ends meet and this according to the news "NJ's most tragic accident of 2018" we feel it is the least we can do as long time co-workers to try to ease the financial burden for this family and the 2 other families who have lost their loved one at this terrible young age.
