KTS Academy in Brotton is an all-age Special Needs school and provides education for pupils with a range of complex needs. Hydrotherapy is an essential part of our curriculum and provides many benefits to our pupils. These benefits include pain reduction, an increased range of movement, improved water confidence and where appropriate equips our pupils with the skills they need before attending more formal swimming lessons at local leisure centres to name just a few benefits.

Our hydro pool is very well-loved and well-used and is now in need of some TLC; it was first opened in 1995 and is in need of a makeover! Therefore a group of staff members have signed up for the 12K Total Warrior obstacle course to try and raise money which will go towards the renovation of the hydrotherapy pool. A new space could include a lighting and sound system, interactive switches and effects projectors which provide an exciting, engaging space for pupils to feel confident and act as an extension of pupils sensory learning environment.
