I am a 37 year old pastor with stage 4 colon cancer.  I was first diagnosed at 33 and it returned two years ago as stage 4.  I have been doing treatments for over two years now.
A great benefit of being a pastor is that the church supplies my housing.  However, this also means that when I am no longer able to support my family, they are out of a home.  I have a 2 and a half year old son and a wife that I do not want to have to search for a home once I grow too sick to work or am no longer with them. To remedy this, I am under contract to buy a beautiful nearby home within my price range.
The only thing this house is lacking is a bathroom on the ground floor.  Presumably at some point I will have difficulty going up stairs and I would like to address this while I am still relatively healthy instead of once it is an emergency.
I don't know precisely what adding a bathroom will cost so I set a high goal.  Any funds that are received that are not spent on the bathroom will go toward paying off my mortgage.
I have been blessed to have had few out of pocket medical expenses and I'm in remarkably good health for what my diagnosis is.  For all of this, I say to God be the glory!  I am at a point now where I want to do all I can to provide for my family and that is why I am asking for help at this time.
