This is Squash Doobie Horney (his full government name). He is 7 months old and lives his life to the fullest (even though he's a little crooked). He began to struggle with coordination around 5 months old. We have been trying to find a diagnosis to figure out the cause, and this has required extensive testing such as blood work, infectious disease panels, an MRI scan, a CSF tap, and cytology. His final diagnosis is FIP.

This was once considered an untreatable disease. But, there is now a new drug treatment. New drugs are EXTREMELY expensive and this one is twice a day for 84 days.

I'm very excited to share our journey through this new treatment with you all. I am deeply interested in helping others navigate and know of new treatments for past diseases which were considered life-ending.

These costs are all unexpected and are quite costly, unfortunately. The initial round of medication for FIP costs upwards of $500+. Plus, the tests necessary to get to this diagnosis have been much higher than that.

He may always be crooked, and I will post updates through his treatments so others can make educated decisions for their own pet's treatments.
