New Hips for Peter

As some of you are aware, I have been dealing with asthma all my life; where some parts of my journey have been asthma free, and other parts it has been very challenging. I am now in a situation where over the last two years, my hips have deteriorated dramatically to the point where I can't walk very much anymore. The hips have deteriorated from osteoporosis to now osteoarthritis. This has been due to the cumulative effects of steroid medication that I have been on and off due to my severe childhood asthma.

It has surprised me how quick the deterioration has been over the last two years, to the point where I now require a double hip replacement.

These days, the pain is so excruciating as my hips are bone on bone.

I don't sleep much at night due to the pain. The public hospital waiting list is 756 days for one hip replacement, let alone 2. Within the private system, they could be done almost immediately

I wish to honour all of you who have supported me over the many years we have been journeying together. For myself, I am now asking for your support in helping me to move forward through this very challenging time.

As part of being able to continue our journey together. I am also looking to support the recovery period, after which we can continue the adventure.
