Hello Dear Friends and Family!

UPDATE

Most of you now know that in the spring of 2022, I was diagnosed with needing not 1 but 2 hip replacements. The X-rays showed mostly bone on bone in both hip sockets, the pain was severe and after a year of trying alternative treatments, I finally surrendered to having these surgeries. The first happened on Thursday, April 6th and the second happened on Thursday, June 15th. The first surgery went well after moving through the first stage of intense shock, recovery and learning to walk again. The second surgery left a small fracture in my femur bone which has put me behind for about 2 weeks in the recovery process. Two major surgeries within 3 months have been hard on all levels.

The hardest part has been managing the excruciating pain. When I had the first surgery on my left hip, I was forced to lean on my right hip during recovery. The right hip was already in extremely bad condition and during the 10 weeks between the two surgeries, I developed additional bone spurs that were measured at almost 1 inch. Most of the medical staff who saw the condition of my hips were astounded I was even able to walk at all or function in any way. This is why I needed surgery and this process has left me humbled and depleted.

So I continue to deeply surrender. To the process, and to humbly ask for and receive help.

I need help with the things NOT covered by insurance including medically necessary dental work needed for pre-surgery clearance (tooth infection and extraction), Co-Pays, pre/post-operation equipment and supplies, Physical Therapy (insurance has yearly limits on the number of visits), alternative care as well as the downtime from work. There have been at least 6 weeks where I have been unable to work and I am struggling to cover normal living costs. The total time of this deep healing and recovery is 5 months. All told both surgeries will cost over $140,000 and while I do have great health insurance this process has drained my resources and energy.

While I continue to pursue all possible avenues and am eternally grateful for the support I have already been given (THANK YOU!!), I am in real need of financial support and am asking my friends and family to help with related out-of-pocket costs that will exceed an estimated amount of $6500. Any amount would help tremendously and a little from many goes a long way. I think that this will be an interesting tale regardless: ballerina to entrepreneur to farmer to CEO and now to bionic woman!

I am asking for financial support through my Go Fund Me Campaign as well as here are a few other ways you can help:

  • Let's barter! I can help support you or your business with business/financial consulting for services you may be offering. I offer 26 years of business management experience and did win Asheville's Woman Executive of the Year in 2022..!
  • Write me a letter or come by and visit while I’m recovering! Would love to connect and catch up on our adventures!
  • Please send prayers and well wishes for healing. I am already held by many of you and am so grateful for the outpouring of love and healing vibes! It’s working!

Thank you all for all the ways you have touched my life and I hope I may have touched yours! Regardless of my current financial pickle, I really am truly blessed.
Cheers!

With gratitude and much love,
Janelle
