At age 5 I had my first vertigo attack and they discovered my hearing loss, over the years my hearing decreased. At the age of 17 I started suffering from tinnitus in my right ear, which further damaged my hearing. The tinnitus never went away and I battle with it daily. My hearing aids help to mask the sound of the ringing in my right ear and improve my hearing (and my sanity). At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with Menieres Disease. I tried my first hearing aid around age 19 on one side (at the expense of my parents). Come 2013 I had the opportunity to finally get my first pair of bilateral hearing aids (got funding through the government while working and attending school full time ) at the age of 22. They were LIFE CHANGING! I have had those hearing aids ever since! However, it is recommended to replace your hearing aids every 4-6 years. This is due to technology advances and due to the fact they start to fall apart (which is where I’m at now). My hearing aids are quite literally hanging on by super glue. My insurance does not cover a single cent of the cost of hearing aids, repair or audiology visits. I have reached out to several local companies for funding but have had no such luck as of yet. I really don’t want to get stuck in a situation where my hearing aids completely die on me. Any donation will significantly help me to my goal of getting my hearing aids. I have already been fitted and quoted for what I need, she is just waiting on my to find the funds! She also has gone out of her way to get my the best price possible with an extended warranty which covers repairs, etc.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for any donations that are made!
Pictured is what I have and what I will be buying again and also attached is a breakdown of my quote!
