New Guitar for Mr Fitt
Donation protected
On Wednesday 29 January 2020, Cowwarr Primary School in rural Victoria was destroyed by fire. Much loved school principal, Mr Albie Fitt, lost his treasured 1977 Fender 12 string acoustic guitar to the devastating fire.
Mr Fitt has dedicated a life of service to disadvantaged communities and rural primary schools, first as a church minister and later as a much loved teacher and school principal.
Mr Fitt has always kept his guitar at school where he has used it to create and sing songs for students, families and school communities.
Although his treasured 1977 12 string guitar can never be replaced, I am fundraising to buy Mr Fitt a new 12 string guitar. I am aiming to raise enough money to purchase an Australian made Maton 12 string (photos attached as a possible option).
Every little bit will help so even if you can spare a few dollars we will be well on our way to bringing some joy to Mr Fitt after what has been a harrowing week for him and the community of Cowwarr in rural Victoria.
If we manage to exceed our target, any extra money raised will go to Cowwarr Primary School.
GoFundMe has requested that I had the following information to this campaign:
My name is Daniel Riley and I am the organiser of this campaign. I am also the Principal of Dandenong Primary School in Victoria, Australia. I worked with Albie Fitt between 2007 and 2013 at Mahogany Rise Primary School in Frankston North where I was Assistant Principal and Albie was a much loved senior school teacher. The funds will be spent on a brand new, Maton 12-string guitar (as pictured). The funds will be withdrawn from GoFundMe to my personal bank account and I will use 100% on the purchase of the guitar. Any additional funds will be paid directly to Cowwarr Primary School.

Like an extension of your home' says principal Mr Fitt said Cowwarr was "a great little school".
"We don't have children away from school because they want to be there," he said.
"We had an assembly yesterday that was filled with parents and we were all excited together as the school year started.
"I am really concerned about the children because of their close connection to the school because the ones that have heard are very upset."
Mr Fitt said staff had also lost personal belongings in the fire.
