We are New Generation, a church-based cheerleading team from the Shankill, who have recently achieved something incredibly special. At our most recent competition in Manchester, our girls brought home 3 first place titles and were awarded the Grand Slam – the highest overall score of the entire competition, beating every team on the day.
Because of these achievements, we have been hand selected to represent the United Kingdom at the European Championships in Croatia, where we will compete against teams from across Europe. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our girls to step onto an international stage and represent not only themselves, but their community and their country.
However, as a completely self-funded team, we rely solely on the support of parents and our local community. There is no external funding behind us, and the cost of this trip is significant. It will cost approximately £400 per person for travel alone, and with a group of 30 of us hoping to attend, the financial pressure is immense. This does not include additional costs such as competition fees, accommodation, and uniforms.
Our goal is to raise enough funds to at least cover each child’s flight, ensuring that every girl who has worked so hard has the opportunity to go and represent Team UK on the European stage.
We are asking if you would consider supporting us through a sponsorship or donation. No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a real difference in helping these young athletes achieve something truly special.
These girls have shown dedication, discipline, and resilience to reach this level, and for many of them, this is an opportunity they may never have again. Your support would not only help them get there, but also show them that their local community believes in them.
If you would like to support or find out more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We would be so grateful for any help you can offer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for considering supporting our team.
